Lazio is said to have initiated discussions with Plymouth Argyle, currently in the Championship, to consider a late transfer move for winger Morgan Whittaker.

Known for their tendency to finalize deals in the final stages of the transfer window, Lazio has maintained this tradition in the current month, having not secured any reinforcements thus far. Despite exploring numerous options, the team has yet to make a definitive move.

In a recent attempt, Lazio approached Sunderland with a €16m offer for Jack Clarke, but the bid was rejected as the winger is valued at €25m. Undeterred, Maurizio Sarri’s team continued scouting the Championship for alternative choices and has now turned attention to Plymouth Argyle.

According to reports from Corriere dello Sport via TMW, Lazio initiated discussions with Plymouth Argyle on Monday to explore the possibility of acquiring Whittaker. The 23-year-old winger has notably scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 28 Championship games this season. Whittaker had previously spent the second half of the last season on loan with Plymouth Argyle before making a permanent move in the summer for approximately €1.15m, securing a four-year contract.
