Terrell Williams is reportedly set to join the Detroit Lions as the run game coordinator and defensive line coach, according to The Athletic. The implications for John Scott Jr., the Lions’ defensive line coach in the previous season, remain unclear.
Previously, Williams held the position of defensive line coach and assistant head coach with the Tennessee Titans. Currently, he is also serving as the head coach of the American Team at the Senior Bowl. With a tenure of six seasons with the Titans, Williams was elevated to the role of Assistant Head Coach before the current season.
Former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel spoke highly of Williams when announcing his promotion, praising his consistency both on and off the field and the strong relationships he built with every defensive lineman during the 2023 Scouting Combine.
