Cardiff City is said to be considering a potential transfer for central defender Axel Tuanzebe from the Blues.

The 26-year-old joined Town in September after the summer transfer window closed, having been a free agent since leaving Manchester United at the end of the previous season. As a former England U19, U20, and U21 international, he had to take time to regain full fitness due to a lingering back injury. So far, he has made seven starts and two substitute appearances for the club, scoring his first senior goal in the FA Cup victory against AFC Wimbledon.

Despite having a contract with Town until the end of the season and an option for another year, the central defender, as reported by Sky Sports, desires more regular playing time. Cardiff City has shown interest in signing him during this transfer window, and several Championship clubs are reportedly keen as well.

However, Town may be reluctant to let go of one of their center-backs in January, especially with Cameron Burgess and Elkan Baggott away at the AFC Asian Cup, unless a suitable replacement is secured. In other news, former Town defender Richard Keogh has parted ways with League One Wycombe Wanderers after joining them following his departure from the Blues in the summer. The 37-year-old is seeking more playing time, having made 16 starts and nine substitute appearances at Adams Park.
