Unveiled: Anthony Joshua’s company records substantial profits following the British heavyweight’s undefeated streak in 2023 – sparking speculation about his next opponent.

Sparta Promotions Limited, Anthony Joshua’s company, has seen a surge in equity over the past year following the British heavyweight’s prosperous 2023.

The 34-year-old boxer competed three times in the calendar year, securing victories against Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius, and Otto Wallin, rebounding from consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022.

According to Forbes, Joshua, with a staggering 16.9 million followers on Instagram and recognized as one of the most renowned athletes globally, ranked 28th among the highest-paid athletes in the world in 2023. As reported by the outlet, Joshua’s net worth stands at approximately £41 million ($53 million), and he has further augmented his substantial fortune in 2024, earning an additional £39 million from his bout against Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.

This substantial earnings boost came even before he stepped into the ring, where he delivered a resounding second-round knockout victory over the former UFC heavyweight champion.

However, 2023 proved exceptionally lucrative for the British fighter, with his company registering profits of £35.9 million. Furthermore, amidst various sponsorship deals, partnerships, and business ventures, Sparta Promotions has once again increased its equity, with the company’s value climbing to £129 million. This marks nearly a £30 million rise in equity valuation compared to 2022, with the former heavyweight champion paying almost £7 million in taxes last year.

Reflecting on his journey, Joshua shared with GQ in 2017, “When I first started, the aim was to become a multimillionaire. But now there are ordinary people, grandmas, and granddads, who are worth millions just because of property prices. So the new school of thought is that I need to be a billionaire. Being a millionaire is good, but you have to set your sights higher.”

His narrative is one of rags-to-riches, originating from a council estate upbringing before ascending to stardom following success in the 2012 Olympics. Joshua boasts a collection of luxury cars worth around £1 million, including a custom-made £150,000 Range Rover SVO inscribed with his name in the tread plates, and a £93,000 white Jaguar XJR. He holds over a dozen properties in his portfolio, including a £1 million house in north London.

Furthermore, he owns his clothing line, AJBXING, and has partnerships with Jaguar Land Rover, William Hill, Hugo Boss, and Under Armour.

For boxers, the financial incentives of competing in Saudi Arabia are evident, with Tyson Fury also earning £39 million for his “Battle of the Baddest” bout against Francis Ngannou last year.

Joshua, meanwhile, showcased his return to top form with a sensational knockout victory against Ngannou at the start of the month. He is now strategizing his next steps, with Frank Warren revealing that he could potentially face Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia next March, following the Gypsy King’s bouts against Oleksandr Usyk.
