Critics have voiced significant concerns about the performance of the Atlanta Falcons offense under Arthur Smith in the previous season, particularly regarding the inconsistency in involving key playmakers, especially in the red zone. Former first-round picks like Bijan Robinson and Kyle Pitts received limited touches, drawing heavy criticism.

Under the new leadership of coach Raheem Morris, who brought in Zac Robinson as the play-caller, early signs suggest a departure from the previous issues. Robinson expressed confidence in utilizing players like Pitts and Robinson, acknowledging their versatility and emphasizing the intention to exploit their skills across various formations.

Pitts, the fourth overall NFL pick, faced scrutiny during Smith’s tenure, with his rookie success at the University of Florida not fully translating to the NFL. Despite injuries, including a torn MCL in 2022, Pitts’ performance declined, raising questions about his usage and whether his college success could be replicated in the professional league.

In contrast, Robinson’s selection in the previous NFL Draft was initially surprising, given the presence of a 1,000-yard rusher in Tyler Allgeier on the roster. Despite not securing the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, Robinson showcased his college prowess, accumulating 976 yards and four touchdowns as a rusher, along with 487 yards and four scores as a receiver over 17 games.

With the addition of Drake London, the Falcons now boast three first-round playmakers, expected to play pivotal roles in the revamped offense led by Morris and Robinson.
