Missouri has made a statement move in the transfer portal, as head coach Kellie Harper secures one of her most important additions of the offseason. After identifying her as a top priority in the backcourt, the Tigers have landed former Indiana guard, a rising talent with the tools to transform the team’s offensive identity.

Nevaeh Caffey arrives in Columbia following an impressive freshman campaign with the Hoosiers, where she quickly proved she could compete — and thrive — at the Power Five level. The 5-foot-10 point guard started all 32 games, averaging 8.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per contest while showcasing elite efficiency. Shooting 42% from the field, 42% from three, and 81% from the free-throw line, she established herself as a true three-level scorer capable of hurting defenses in multiple ways.

Her impact wasn’t just in the numbers — it was in the moments. Caffey’s standout performance came against the Penn State Nittany Lions women’s basketball, where she erupted for 18 points and added five assists, demonstrating her ability to take control of a game. Despite being a freshman, she was one of only two Indiana players to start every game, finishing as the team’s fifth-leading scorer on a squad that narrowly missed postseason play.

Before her time at Indiana, Caffey built her reputation at Incarnate Word Academy, one of the most dominant high school programs in Missouri. A four-star recruit in the 2025 class, she was ranked among the nation’s top players and widely regarded as one of the best prospects in her state. Now, she returns home with experience, confidence, and a clear opportunity to step into a leading role.

Missouri’s roster still has a few pieces to finalize, but Caffey’s arrival immediately strengthens the backcourt. She is expected to compete for — and likely claim — the starting point guard role, potentially shifting Averi Kroenke into a different position or easing her workload as she continues her recovery from an ACL injury.

With a roster trending young but loaded with upside, Harper’s aggressive recruiting approach is beginning to reshape the program. And with Nevaeh Caffey now in the fold, Missouri may have found the dynamic playmaker capable of leading a serious push toward contention.

If her freshman season was any indication, Caffey isn’t just arriving in Columbia to contribute — she’s coming to take over.
