There is a downside though. Outfielder Lane Thomas has been out since September 10 after straining something during batting practice. He is expected to miss about four weeks, which is frustrating timing for a player still getting comfortable in a new city.

There is still a chance he gets back on the field soon. If his recovery goes as planned Thomas could return in time for the 2026 playoffs. A good playoff run would likely help his value since teams often watch closely how players perform under pressure.
As for the Braves themselves, they show no signs of slowing down. The team sits at 92 and 64 and has won seven of its last ten games. They are set to host the Cincinnati Reds next. Even without Thomas available, Atlanta looks ready to keep pushing toward October.
