Under Sam Pittman’s Watch, the addition from the transfer portal underscores the depth of returning linebackers for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Arkansas Razorbacks bolster linebacker corps with key transfer acquisition, Stephen Dix.

In Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Razorbacks have secured Stephen Dix from Marshall University, a standout linebacker identified by PFF College as one of the top transfers this season. Dix impressed during his time at Marshall, ranking third on the team last season with 67 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks. His collegiate journey began at Florida State, where he played during the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season, recording 45 tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss.

Arkansas initially showed interest in Dix during his high school recruitment, but he opted for Florida State over a range of schools including Florida, Kentucky, Miami, and Ohio State. Now, Dix joins the Razorbacks to strengthen their linebacker group after they faced significant departures following a challenging 4-8 season.

Head coach Sam Pittman and defensive coordinator Travis Williams have been proactive in fortifying the team’s defense through the transfer portal. They secured other notable transfers such as Anton Juncaj, an FCS All-American from Albany, and former 5-star recruit Xavian Sorey from Georgia.

The Razorbacks also welcomed promising high school recruits in their 2024 class, including 4-star Bradley Shaw from Hoover, Alabama, and 3-star prospects Justin Logan, Wyatt Simmons, and Julius ‘JuJu’ Pope, enhancing depth and future prospects for the linebacker position.
