“Can’t be silent no more” – Travis Kelce speaks out about Harrison Butker following his Kansas City Chiefs teammate’s controversial ‘homemaker’ speech.

Travis Kelce has spoken out in defense of his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Harrison Butker following Butker’s controversial speech, in which he told female graduates that one of their most important roles in life would be as a ‘homemaker’.

Butker’s 20-minute speech at Benedictine College, Kansas, sparked widespread outrage when he encouraged female graduates to embrace the ‘vocation’ of being a homemaker, citing his wife Isabelle as an example.

On the latest episode of New Heights, Kelce, who was recording from Europe while accompanying his girlfriend Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour, defended his teammate against the cancel culture backlash despite largely disagreeing with Butker’s views.

“I’ve known him for over seven years. I cherish him as a teammate. I think Pat (Mahomes – the Chiefs quarterback) said it best: he is a great person and a great teammate,” Kelce said.

“He’s treated my family and friends with nothing but respect and kindness. And that’s how he treats everyone.”
