Arkansas’ acquisition of a third commitment marks a significant boost to their backcourt, enhancing Coach Calipari’s inaugural recruiting class with the Hogs.

In Fayetteville, Arkansas, another top talent from the 2024 class has decided to join the Razorbacks. Boogie Fland, ranked as the nation’s No. 18 prospect, has pledged his commitment to Arkansas under the leadership of new head coach John Calipari, as announced on his Instagram.

Fland initially committed to Kentucky in mid-October and officially signed with the Wildcats on November 8, 2023. However, with Calipari’s move to Arkansas generating substantial buzz in college basketball circles, Fland opted to reopen his recruitment, ultimately choosing to join the Razorbacks.

Standing at 6 feet 3 inches, Fland boasts an impressive resume as a highly decorated high school standout. His accolades include selection to the 2024 Nike Hoops Summit and participation in the prestigious McDonald’s All-American Game. Additionally, he earned the title of New York state’s player of the year according to MaxPreps. According to reports from college basketball reporter Adam Zagoria, Calipari pursued Fland vigorously to secure his commitment to Arkansas.

On the court, Fland showcased his prowess by averaging 19 points, seven rebounds, and four assists per game during his senior year at Archbishop Stepinac in New York. His decision to join Arkansas came after considering offers from prominent programs such as Louisville, Alabama, Kentucky, Florida State, Pitt, St. John’s, Illinois, Providence, and Seton Hall. As per 247Sports, Fland’s commitment elevates him to the status of the fifth-best prospect to join Arkansas.

In addition to Fland, Arkansas has also secured commitments from other top prospects, including Karter Knox, a top-20 prospect, and former Kentucky center Zvonimir Ivisic. The Razorbacks are further eyeing talents like 2024 forward Billy Richmond, former Tennessee center Jonas Aidoo, and former FAU guard Johnell Davis, indicating a concerted effort to strengthen their roster with a blend of talent and experience.
