Palace turns down loan proposal from Forest.

Crystal Palace has turned down a loan proposal from Nottingham Forest for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. The bid, which included an obligation to purchase the 30-year-old, was rejected by Palace. Despite Johnstone’s return to fitness after a calf injury, the club opted not to proceed with the loan deal. The goalkeeper, who has featured in 19 matches this season, has been part of the last four England squads and notably kept a clean sheet against Australia at Wembley in October. It’s worth noting that Palace had previously acquired goalkeeper Dean Henderson for £20 million in the summer, leading to competition between Henderson and Johnstone for the number-one goalkeeper position.
