Nottingham Forest actively pursuing the signing of Ismaïla Sarr from Marseille.

Sarr, who recently joined Marseille from Watford in the summer for a reported €13m, quickly became a key player under Marcelino but doesn’t fit well into Gennaro Gattuso’s system. Currently representing Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Marseille is open to his departure this month.

Although Marcelino, now managing La Liga’s Villarreal, holds Sarr in high regard, the Spanish club faces competition from the Premier League. Nottingham Forest has not yet approached Marseille directly but has initiated contact with Sarr to persuade him to consider a move. The English club is actively working to secure the signing of the Marseille winger before the transfer window closes.
