A striker deemed “world-class” has expressed a desire to depart from his current club amidst reported interest from Chelsea.
Chelsea has shown interest in Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema, who departed from Real Madrid last summer, as reported by ESPN. An AFP report now suggests that the 36-year-old has expressed a desire to leave Al-Ittihad temporarily.
Opting for a short-term arrangement could be advantageous for Chelsea, allowing them to secure Benzema for the remainder of the season before potentially pursuing a more permanent solution, such as Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, in the summer.
Despite a decent performance in Saudi Arabia, where he scored nine goals in 15 league appearances this season, it is evident that Benzema is discontent with his current situation.
