The Philadelphia Eagles, last season’s NFC champions, are stumbling toward the end of the 2023 season, suffering four losses in their last five games. However, wide receiver A.J. Brown reportedly made efforts to uplift the team’s morale.

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, Brown assumed the role of the voice of reason by orchestrating a players-only meeting after the recent defeat to the Arizona Cardinals. Glazer highlighted that Brown took responsibility by apologizing to his teammates for the emotional impact his actions may have had during the team’s recent struggles.

Brown drew attention earlier in the season for a heated exchange with Jalen Hurts during a game against the Kansas City Chiefs and has a reputation for displaying emotions on the sidelines. Despite this, he has actively worked on fostering unity within the team. Eagles’ right tackle Jordan Mailata revealed on SportsRadio 94WIP that Brown even organized a team outing to an escape room to strengthen team bonding.

The Eagles’ season took a turn after an impressive start of 10-1, securing victories against strong teams like the Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Miami Dolphins. However, a significant loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 3 initiated a downward spiral, leading to defeats against the Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, and Cowboys, where the defense faltered and the offense struggled to score above 20 points in multiple games.

In their upcoming game against the 5-11 New York Giants, Philadelphia aims to bounce back, needing a win and assistance from the 4-12 Washington Commanders against the Cowboys to secure the NFC East title. Alternatively, a tie against the Giants coupled with a Dallas loss would also grant the Eagles the divisional victory.

Despite the dependency on other outcomes, Brown is actively working to prepare his team for the playoffs.
