The Washington Huskies have secured a major recruiting win on the offensive line, adding one of the top in-state prospects in the 2027 class following a successful official visit weekend in Montlake.

After a brief pause in recruiting activity due to graduation events on campus, Washington returned to action with a key group of visitors, headlined by a highly rated local offensive lineman who had been trending toward the program in recent weeks.

Rashaun Lavata’i has officially announced his commitment to Washington, giving the Huskies a significant boost in their efforts to build out their offensive line for the future. The four-star prospect from Curtis Senior High School in Washington chose the Huskies after completing his visit schedule, which included competing programs such as Oregon State, Utah, and Washington State.

Lavata’i, listed at 6-foot-6 and around 265 pounds, is viewed as a high-upside offensive tackle prospect with the frame and athletic ability to develop into a long-term starter at the college level. His rise over the past several months, fueled by strong camp performances, made him one of the most closely watched in-state recruits in his class.

Washington had been aggressive in his recruitment from the moment they extended an offer, and the staff’s persistence ultimately paid off. The Huskies were able to build strong momentum during his campus visit, which played a decisive role in his commitment decision.

The addition is especially important for Washington, which has been working to strengthen its offensive line depth and add foundational pieces for the 2027 recruiting cycle. Lavata’i’s commitment also reinforces the program’s ability to keep top in-state talent at home despite strong regional competition.

With Lavata’i now in the fold, the Huskies continue to prioritize building a physical and athletic trench unit for the future. His commitment is expected to be one of the cornerstone additions in Washington’s offensive line class as recruiting efforts move forward.
