GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina men’s golf team delivered a strong performance on their home turf this week, securing a second-place finish at the ECU Intercollegiate. The Pirates concluded the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a final score of 878 (14-over par) at Brook Valley Country Club.
UNCW claimed the team title, finishing atop the leaderboard with a score of 868 (4-over par) to edge out the host Pirates by 10 strokes. St. John’s finished third (885), followed by UCF (887) and Gardner-Webb (896) to round out the top five.
Senior Philip Linberg Bondestad and junior Nathan O’Neal led the charge for ECU, each carding a 219 (3-over) to tie for fourth place individually. Sophomore Luke Mosley was close behind, securing a share of eighth place with a score of 220 (4-over).
The Pirates also saw strong contributions from sophomores Holden Rucker and freshman Oscar Crowe, who both finished tied for 14th with scores of 222 (6-over). Junior Drew O’Neal tied for 19th at 223 (7-over), while junior Adam Lennermark (229) tied for 35th. Seniors and freshmen rounded out the ECU contingent, with Davis DeLille and Josh Davies each carding 230 to tie for 40th.
The Pirates will look to build on this momentum when they return to action on Friday, March 27, at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate in Snow Hill, N.C.
