In a move that turned heads across the SEC, five-star forward officially committed to the Missouri Tigers men’s basketball, giving the program one of its biggest recruiting wins in recent memory.

The 6-foot-10 standout out of Southeastern Prep in Orlando picked Missouri over powerhouse programs like Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball and Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball, delivering a major victory for head coach Dennis Gates, who had been recruiting him since early in his high school career.

Toni Bryant, ranked among the nation’s top prospects, represents more than just a major addition—his commitment signals a turning point for Missouri basketball. By teaming him up with fellow five-star Jason Crowe Jr., the Tigers have, for the first time in program history, secured multiple five-star commitments in the same class.

A key factor in Bryant’s decision was his strong relationship with Coach Gates. The early belief and consistent communication from the Missouri staff helped build trust long before Bryant’s rise to national prominence, ultimately setting the Tigers apart from other elite programs.

On the court, Bryant brings a rare and versatile skill set that fits perfectly into Missouri’s up-tempo system. With his length, mobility, and a wingspan that stretches over seven feet, he’s viewed as one of the top two-way players in the country. Defensively, he has the tools to protect the rim while also switching onto guards, making him a true anchor on that end.

Offensively, he adds another dimension. Known as a lob threat, Bryant has also developed a dependable outside shot, giving him the ability to stretch the floor and create mismatches against traditional big men.

His recent performance at the McDonald’s All-American Game only added to the buzz. Bryant showcased his ability to compete with the nation’s best, while also putting his athleticism on display during the event’s dunk contest.

Looking ahead, Missouri’s outlook for the 2026–27 season has taken a major leap. With Bryant anchoring the frontcourt and Crowe Jr. leading the backcourt, the Tigers are expected to field one of the most athletic and dynamic lineups in the country.

For a program eager to make a deep postseason run, Bryant’s commitment could be the defining piece that pushes Missouri into true national title contention under Coach Gates.
