The offseason rebuild took a major leap forward for the Missouri Tigers men’s basketball, as they secured the commitment of Tyran Stokes, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 class—filling their most pressing roster need.
Missouri entered the offseason with clear concerns on the offensive end. The team lacked a consistent scoring leader and struggled with shot creation and overall offensive balance. With roster turnover adding to the uncertainty, finding a centerpiece player became the top priority.
That need was fully addressed with the arrival of Stokes.
Widely regarded as the best high school player in the country, Stokes brought elite scoring ability that Missouri had been missing. His knack for creating his own shot and delivering points in key moments instantly gave the Tigers a reliable offensive option.
