The Missouri Tigers have secured a major addition from the transfer market, landing one of the top remaining available players even after the portal window closed.

Head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff capitalized on the opportunity to strengthen a key position, adding edge rusher Kamauryn Morgan from Baylor Bears. Morgan had previously committed to Virginia Tech Hokies before backing out due to academic concerns, ultimately choosing Missouri as his next destination.

Despite recording just six tackles as a freshman, Morgan entered college as a highly regarded four-star recruit and was considered the best unsigned player still available, according to On3 rankings. Missouri had been involved in his recruitment dating back to high school and earlier transfer discussions, finally securing his commitment on this attempt.

Morgan’s arrival addresses a pressing need for the Tigers following the departures of key defensive ends Zion Young and Damon Wilson II. While Missouri added several other defensive players through the portal—such as CJ May, Jaden Jones, Malik Bryant, and Cavan Tuley—none bring the same level of pedigree or upside.

With experience in 10 games at a major program, Morgan could quickly carve out a significant role as Missouri looks to replace the 15.5 sacks lost from departing starters. His addition brings the Tigers’ transfer class total to 30 players.

Although he joins the team after spring practice has paused, Morgan is expected to compete for immediate playing time as Missouri continues rebuilding its defensive front for the upcoming season.
